I Should Have Known Chapter 10

What? It was all a joke?
I wanted him to hurt. Both of them. I mean, they had wanted me to get hurt, which I was, because I had found out about it, but I want them to hurt as well.
Yeah, it was typical behavior for popular kids, I guess. They always hurt us 'nothings.'
   "How fucking dare you?!" I mumbled through my tears, jumping clear across Sandra and almost past Jinxx, but he caught me before I could get my hands on Ashley.
   "Let me go, Jinxx!"  I yelled, trying to free myself.
    "Ashley, you should go." Sandra told him. Oh no you're not.
    "Let me at him, Jinxx!" I shrieked, thrashing my arms and legs
    "Andy, let him go." He said quietly as we watched his retreating form walk further and further away.
I started crying again, this time into Jinxx's shoulder. I felt a new hand on my back, it was Sammi Doll, Jinxx's girlfriend.
    "It'll be okay, Andy." She spoke in her soft-spoken tone. "You're to good for him."
I sniffed, "You saw all of it?" She nodded her head.
    "I also saw Jake." She smiled.
We stayed in the bleachers, Sandra, Jinxx, Sammi, and I for what seemed like hours. We were just talking.
Though the whole time I thought about the bass playing beauty. I should have known it was a joke, I should have known.
